Guys n Gals,

Im just wondering where I can get some decent rubble sacks, I bought some wickes and they couldn't seem to take more than a couple bricks. I was thinking of hiring a skip but Ive got still got to lug the crap to the front of the house, and if im going to do that I may aswell chuck the crap in the car and cart it off to the tip, which is only 10 mins away! Plus a skip is £120-130 round here now!!

Also My bathroom has ventilation issues, and ive got a small amount of mould by the shower, not too bad, but I need to remove it prior to painting, what have you guys used effectively?

Thanks!

rubble garden bags, put in car boot, take to the tip, if only 10min away saves you money.

If you got to b&q you can get some strong bags for bricks ect.

I had mold once i had to have the all re plastered, might not be the case for yours be well was the best way.

Sorry should have mentioned, the mould is on the grout in the tiles and some of the sealant. There is a small bit on the ceiling aswell.

We use a few of those soft sided buckets from asda/tesco. Can carry a fair bit of weight, got handles so you can lift properly and they don't fall apart like rubble sacks.

Got a few flexitubs, been well used, abused, & still don't leak & I still haven't broke them in 2 or 3 years of use.

Might find them cheaper if you Google Rhino Flexi Tubs.

Silverline heavy duty rubble sacks from Amazon. Never had a problem with them though there are still obviously limits (normally reached by my strength rather than the bag's).

As random as it sounds i have taken to using recycling boxes for rubble. Our council give you as many as you ask for, so i now have around 15 of them. Very strong plastic boxes which can withstand being filled with rubble - worth a shot if you have a box recycling system as we do in Oxfordshire.

Order a few growbags from Wilko and they send each one in an individual woven rubble sack :D. I have like 20 sacks now from a few years of ordering stuff.

They give us one round here, we haven't even made the switch to Wheely Bins yets :(

You're lucky,we have 4 unsightly wheely bins at the side of our house. Garden waste, paper and cardboard, glass and plastic and general waste.

The best thing is HG (Hagesan) mould remover spray - it is fantastic and needs no elbow grease what so ever. Get some - trust me. It's only a fiver or so for a bottle.

I do recommend you reads the instructions though, and wear protective gloves. I usually don't bother, but you really need to with this stuff ;)

+1 Ive been using these for my most recent project and they are fantastic! very strong, good handles, take loads of weight!

As for the rubble sacks it depends what your putting in them, if its anything sharp i wouldn't bother like tiles etc they just cut straight though the bag. bricks etc i find most sacks providing you pay enough will be fine for the job.

Also ive been taking all my rubble/ rubbish to the tip to save on skip costs as they are ridiculous, great money saving!

Any decent builders merchants have great rubble bags that won't split or tear, I've had the same set for years to trundle back and forth to the tip.

Same here, think I paid £2 in Asda for them.
Much better than constantly buying random rubble sacks in the hope one day you'll find a sack that can actually hold rubble! :p
