£50 budget any reccomendations? Last pair I had were some Ray ban ones but I lost them like a silly *******.

Any brands to avoid for example

Been really impressed with my Sungods which I got earlier this year. https://www.sungod.co/. Fit well, look decent, and the lenses are excellent, and they're pretty much unbreakable (plus have a lifetime guarantee). I bought the ones with polarised lenses for £65, but if you go for unpolarised lenses they're £45 and still great value.

I always liked the look of Tens but didn't like the fact you had to pay for returns online.

I recently used RXSport to order some prescription Oakleys. Just arrived today and they are amazing - super fast processing too. The lenses are a joy to look through (prizm sapphire polarised) and easily my favourite of all of those I tried over the past few weeks.

If you wear contacts then obviously there may be little point in prescription sunglasses.

If you’re not fussed over the brand or the minor nuances of specific lenses then just go somewhere like Boots and there will be many styles that ape the ‘known brands’.... probably also made by the same companies :p

One thing that might be worth considering is the light transmission rating (you don’t want too dark or too light).

Check out Melon Optics. Full customisation from individual arm colours and fronts to lenses, and even with polarising, come in around £40.

Just had a quick look! looks decent options so far and under budget thanks!

The article was an interesting read has stopped me going over budget!, I did see some nice Ray Bans at £100+ but I couldn't even remotely justify it

HAWKERS!!!! Discovered them two years ago and absolutely swear by them. £20 for a nice pair and they always have deals and codes on. Don't pay full price!

Whatever takes your fancy. Pretty much everything you buy, no matter what the brand, is made by the same company,
But despite the same parent company do they all manufacture to the same standard and spec? Lenses may come from the same supplier but particularly frame build, parts and quality.

I used to work for a clothing brand, the parent company had another separate clothing line. I can tell you the two were completely different in terms of manufacturing and quality.

I have four pairs :D great sunnies for the price eh

Edit. It was actually someone on here who posted a pic of some hawkers in the images of items I have purchased thread, that got me looking at them. :p

Try Mr Spex, they let you order a few pairs to try with free returns :)

I would say definitely get polarised lenses though.

I definitely posted some pictures in the pics of recent purchases thread and I remember at least 2 people saying they liked the look, but your name doesn’t ring a bell :p
