I'm looking at mechanical tenkeyless keyboards with normal sized keys. But I have no clue which switches would be good to try out first, I have never really used mechanical keyboard on daily basis before. It can't be too loud so blue switches are a definite no, no.

Keyboard budget: £75

And...

I'm looking for a new mousepad for mionix naos 7000, I currently use qck which is 5 years old and all dirty it needs replacing.

My budget for mousepad is: £15-20

I just got my first mechanical keyboard and chose brown switches. Not too noisy, especially if you use o-rings. The tactile bump is slight but noticeable, it is excellent for gaming and for typing. They seem an excellent balance between blue and red making them an ideal first choice.

What o-rings did you use?

The razer orange switch is not that loud, but all mech switches are much louder than a dome keyboards. If you are just after the feel, Thermaltake do a mech/dome hybrid.

The non-clicky switches aren't that loud, and when you get used to typing with a mechanical keyboard, you stop bottoming out every key press. That means they're not really loud at all. :)

For a TKL, how about a Corsair K65? It uses MX Reds so they're linear but not fatiguing like MX Black. Some people find the tactile switches off-putting, but the bump present in MX Brown isn't that strong. So if you do spot one you want with MX Browns, they're a very similar weight to the reds, just with a nicer feel (IMO).

I use a corsair k70 with Browns, non clicky and with o-rings not too noisy at all, mines an early model so I now have 14 of the LEDs in the keys not working :( I think they fixed this in later versions not sure though but might be worth looking at if your thinking of going corsair.

Have used the ocuk gaming surfaces for years now, really like how they feel

Not interested in razer staff, I bought some of the products in the past and they all weren't worth the money I paid for it...

You could shop around and try and get them cheaper but obviously not allowed to link here.
Yeah, I know... but you can always send me a trust message ;)

I was looking at k65 some time back when it use to be on offer here last year for around 59 pounds, shame I didn't buy it. I use to have a spring keyboard which in some ways could be called mechanical as the feel was similiar but harder. The clicky noise wasn't bothering me, but I have other people in the house tryiing to sleep when I type essays at night. I have this weird habbit of doing my essays and projects at night.. :D

Ducky Shine TKL with Reds and "o" rings here, great for gaming and not too big.
I like the simplicity of these tenkeyless keyboards, I hate flashy gaming staff :p

I actually have the XXL version of this mouse pad, but its not this same as qck. I think I'll just buy qck heavy without any graphics...

I have the Ducky Shine 3 TKL as like you I hate all the flashy bolted on stuff as I don't need it. Possibly the best keyboard I've had to date.

I have the brown switches with red backlight

Edit: Previous Keyboard was a Logitech G710+ and before that a Microsoft Sidewinder X4. It knocks spots off both of these.

I use a Filco Ninja Majestouch-2, Tenkeyless with brown switches and Logitech Performance MX mouse. Worth paying a bit more for the Filco but will take you over budget sadly.
