Hi all, Random enwuiry time!

We have a user here (at work) who requires (due to a shoulder injury) a tenkeyless version of one of those strange shaped ergonomic KBs

requirements
- ergo
- tenkeyless (no number pad, so they can have their mouse in line with their shoulder)
- Wired (due to company policy on battery waste, and that if we allow one wireless device, we open the floodgates for more requests!)

does such a thing exist?! the alternative is most likely that I saw the numpad off an old microsoft one :p

Thanks

Theres the TEK as mentioned above. Could opt for a type matrix?

It depends what you mean by "ergonomic" If by that you mean "Microsoft Keyboard with a bulge in the middle" then that is NOT ergonomic. If you mean: Kinesis Advantage, uTron, ergodox, TEK then they never come with keypads anyway as a keypad is pretty horrendous for ergonomics as keeping hands on the home row is optimal. Also is this chap willing to learn a new layout? QWERTY being pretty bad for ergonomics, Dvorak or Colemak being better choices.

I've just bought a KBC 60% to help with my ergs, as mentioned previously helping keep mouse hand in line with shoulder.

In all honesty, after using multiple keyboards I think that a simple ten key less, or 60% with the back feet folded down is the best method. If using a mechanincal, sometimes cherry browns with the tactile 'click' can help, or sometimes the cherry reds if you can type without bottoming out on them.

I have and use the Microsoft monstrosity at work, and I'm not actually that convinced by it. For starters the thing is _huge_ which means getting the mouse is a real strain. I also find the keys a bit 'mushy' which means you have to press quite hard which can cause further strain.

However, if this is what your employee has asked for then I suppose there is the 'Truely Ergonomic Keyboard' available at a reputable uk keyboard company. However I have heard mixed reports, and for a couple of hundred quid, I don't really know if it is worth it.

Something else to considor is a vertical mouse, Anker do a cheap one which is good.
