Hey guys,

A mate of mine is looking to get the best bang for his buck and I've been out of the component game for a while and i know of nobody better to advice me than you guys!

So, he has all the peripherals and guff so all that is needed is all the internals and case.

Max budget is £500 inc VAT & Shipping.

Thanks!

I'm rubbish at putting together the spec lists compared to some people, but can you give more information?

What is his definition of "bang for buck" ?

Does he want to play games, or not? Does he want several TB of storage, or a fast bootup time?

What are the things he'll mainly be using it for? :)

Sorry for the lack of detail.

He's wanting a gaming system, so a 500gb drive or 1tb would be good for now, if he needs more down the line they are easy and cheap to pick up on their own.

Bang for buck with regards to the most powerful cpu/gpu combo allowed within the budget. Something that wont bottleneck.

That's without aftermarket cooler. Better bang for buck but possibly very noisy. Could add one for about the same budget if you don't need the DVD drive.

Went for a gold PSU as there's only really £10 between it and the bronze capable (without stressing too much) ones, and the gold has a 5-year warranty, and can be kept for use with more powerful GPU's in the future.

Similar to Dannys but the Gold PSU is out of stock so went for bronze and also includes a cooler which will be able to overclock also so nice high speed RAM. Comes with Battlefield 4 and if you already have BF4 you sell it for some cash.

Unfortunately my mate went for this build only to find that the cooler is too big for the case :(
