Am looking for a small PC to place under the TV which will play DVD's, Audio CD's and stream content from network.

Wi-Fi is a must.. cheapest option possible.

5.1 Audio is a must. Optical out would be nice, but as doing on the cheap, not too bothered if there or not. Same with a DVB Tuner.

Will not be used for gaming and have no immediate plans to use as a PVR if that helps keep the cost down but the possibility of upgrading would be nice.

Many Thanks.

This works out as a fairly cheap way of doing it, it does offer options for expansion later though as necessary. I don't know much about DVB tuners so I have left it out at the moment, onboard graphics and the sound is 7.1 but no optical so if you want optical then you'd be best getting a USB wireless receiver to free up a PCI slot for a soundcard.

Any MAC compatible TV Tuners on the market?

Ive been looking at those on and off for a while.

The only snag is thats its for connection to a standard TV so need some kind of TV-Out facility which the Mini does not have AFAIK.

Would this system be able to play back HD material?
