spec me the minimum rig that will play todays games

got a mate who has *some* money to spend on getting himself a new rig

most of us on here are enthusiasts anyway, and i know what i would spec, but i wanted to throw it open, and see what you would offer.

he wants something to run todays games reasonably well, but isnt in to the benchmarking, ninija-turbo PC scene, so isnt looking for the most insane harcore rig ...

what say you?
