So, my graphics card is getting a tad on the old side considering it was only a temporary solution 2 years ago :o and I'm looking to get an upgrade.

Budget ~ £120
Screen Res: 1680x1050
Games: Anything
Motherboard: Gigabyte 965P DS3 Revision 2.0
Case: Antec 900 (just in case of size restrictions)

Would be willing to go a bit higher on the budget if the card is worth it. Not fussed about brand as I'll go with whatever provides the best bang for buck.

Would probably suggest a GTS 250 or a cheap GTX 260 (OCUK) for £139, or failing that a 4850 or 4770 if you're looking for slightly more budget.

Seems the 4770 is slightly slower than 850 which is on a par with the GTS 250.

Personally I would go with the 260 as it'll give you the best flexibility, though the 4770 makes a nice cheap upgrade.

I'd fork out the extra bit and grab the cheap GTX260 :)

It's on par with a HD4870, and it's a bargain atm.

Pretty quiet imo - but then I might be told I'm going deaf in the next few posts, but at the default fan setting of 40% I can only hear a slight noise from my PC and not sure if that's the GPU or CPU but when my HDD whirr up, they are by far the loudest thing if that helps try and give an idea.

Just had a quick play around with fan settings, 80% and it's quite noisy - sound of a DVD drive.

50% can't hear it over anythign else and so the default of 40% almost seems inaudible in my setup.

I just want to add that although I suggested the 4850, i'd personally stretch for the GTX260.

I only posted it incase your budget is tight.

Well scraped together some pennies and ready to press buy, can I just confirm that the GTX 260 will fit inside my case, an Antec 900 (original model)? Thanks.

Great, thanks to you and all who supplied such helpful information.

Edit: Set date for delivery when all the exams are over, can't wait.
