Hello!

After getting my games PC specced here (which you guys did a fantastic job with btw ;) ), I thought I'd ask you guys about other possible rigs.

Note, I'm not sure if I'll be getting these any time soon, that depends on price, but I just want to know the kind of stuff I'd need a general ballpark price.

Okay, two rigs:

Media PC
For playing DVDs/Blu-Ray. Also, able to access the internet for youtube/netflix
I'd like a remote control and a strong wireless internet connection.
Also, is it possible to have two DVD drives with different regions on the same PC? I have several Region 1 DVDs and it'd be great to be able to have them all in one unit. (I'd also like some recommendations of disc playback software).
I'd like the system to be as quiet as possible too obviously (no water cooling though).
Also, do they still do cases that lay flat? Looks better under a TV ;)

Art/General PC
I have a wacom cintiq and enjoy drawing etc. I want a PC that will handle photoshop and other graphics editing software, can play films and can do simple 3D editing (Sketchup) and simple video editing.

Thinking a bit out the box here but for the "media PC" wouldn't you be better with a PS3?

Blu ray drives are pricey, so nothing will come close to being as cheap as a PS3. Im not sure you can have different region DVD drives, its something i've not explored, it doesn't sound possible in my eyes though, they maybe a 'hack' somewhere..

Art and general pc sounds a bit more a build thing.

I suggest sticking with intel/nvidia for these kind of PC's as they have there advantage though as your use sounds pretty low maybe a trinity build (strong onboard graphics) may be better..

Its the difference between a £400 PC (trinity) and a £650-700 PC (iintel/nvidia).

I do have a PS3 but honestly I'm not a fan and would rather not use it. (I also enjoy putting computers together, so there's that!).

I used to use my PS3 as a Media hub and it worked great and paired with PS3 Media Server I could play any file format at 720p pretty easily, as long as your PC is powerful enough.

I have no clue what you need for a Photo editing Rig but I think this is a good start for what you need.

If you need to save a bit you can drop the Cooler to something cheaper, and the SSD. Tried to go for a green theme.

Yes you can have two regions on different DVD drives. Go to MyCE http://www.myce.com/ You'll get ALL the answers you need..
Bottom of my thread is what I use for Photoshop/Lightroom. Brilliant. Just add an NVIDIA GeForce GTX650 to that..
