Looking to get PC mainly for gaming, no up to date with hardware so would appreciate some help.

No OS, Keyboard, Mouse.

Spec the PC for £500 and could you recommend a monitor £100/150.

Thank you!

I've had a go at one myself after reading through a lot of threads. This setup any good? Would it be able to handle MW2 and other games? Any possibility of overclocking?

I have made one too. It uses less power with the CPU, you can change the case if you want, the board is the same and my favoured ram :)

You can play any new games with this setup.

BUT:
No Xfire unless you get more powerful PSU.
No overclocking unless you get a better CPU cooler eg. Artic Cooler £19.99 one(forgot name)

But this should be fine for your needs :)

I don't understand the second setup either. The case doesn't look as good and for the +£2 get the quad core CPU?

I am looking at a similer computer. About £400-£450, mainly want for Windows 7 and The Sims 3.

Well, the tri-core can have its fourth core unlocked, its a lot less power consuming and is a lot cooler.

You can get a GPU for now (as no onboard graphics, eg.6200LE) and upgrade later, and that's £100 saved. But you can probably get away with cheaper ram like patriot, still good quality, and about £20/30 less.
