It's time to bite the bullet and put my money where my mouth is. I've been umming and ahhing for too long now.

I have £1000 give or take. I'm looking for an awesome gaming system that will also be good for lite video / sound editing. I'd also like to be able to record game footage without dropping too much FPS (is this GFX or CPU usage?).

Ideally the system will have;

- i7 CPU
- R9 GFX or better
- 500gb SSD
- Water cooled heatsink

A neat looking case won't go a miss too!

Thanks in advance!

Do you need an OS? Any peripherals at all i.e. monitor, keyboard/mouse?
Also does the system need to be silent for the sound editing?

Nvidia GTX970 is not only generally faster it uses less power and makes less heat.

But it also has Shadowplay so you can record 20mins of your games with little impact on system performance - http://www.geforce.co.uk/geforce-experience/shadowplay

Thanks guys - These look great!

If I'm looking at the GTX 970 - Is it worth upgrading to the 980 - Is there going to be much of a difference?

Thanks again

If I'm looking at the GTX 970 - Is it worth upgrading to the 980? Doesn't seem to be any difference in price at the moment? - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-071-ZT

Thanks again

The cheapest GTX980 is £150 more,
