Change the AMD Athlon 64 3800+ for a 3700+, you could then try a small overclock. Its better to have a larger cache than a slightly faster cpu.

Not if you get an ATI card like Explicit suggested, which is better than the 7800GT, so I don't really see the point.

Question about xp64 x2
On the amd website it lists the 3800 x2 as clocking at 2ghz, is that 2ghz each core, or a total of both cores

Each core runs at 2Ghz.

And they also overclock very well.

Each Core, they both run at the same quotted speed, not a combined total.

No, if you can afford a X2, do it, far far far far better, and ive come from a 3Ghz 3700+ to a 2.5ghz X2.
