Hi,

Pls spec me a pc

I have a 7900gtx 512mb so wont be changing that unless as Im not gaming much atm..

I need:-

processor
mobo
ram
psu
case
keyboard
mouse
hdd - 1tb

I dont know whether to go dual or quad core, I have a dual core anyway as seen in my sig..I go through phases, when I game I game a lot and if I don't game well I don't miss it but been reading on whether we actually need quads..I dunno pls help

I do use photoshop a lot as well as video encoding etc...

Budget - well bang for buck as always (ideally no more then 400 - 500) Something to last for a couple of years if thats possible?

Thanks in advance..

Comes to about £504 without postage, you've got free postage anyway as a loyal forum member. The Quad core will be very usefuly for video encoding and photoshop. It will also make a good gaming rig if you put your 7900gtx in.

EDIT: Forgot an Optical drive, but these are only £15. Something like this would be fine : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM

will i really use quad core in gaming though?

is that hsf that good compared to a tuniq? especially when it comes to overclocking n all..

will the antec basic psu provide adequate juice for a quad +4gb +1tb + a 7900gtx?

Quad will be used on some games, with more coming in the near future, yeah that hsf is good and yeah that PSU should power that fine (I personally would pay abit extra and get a corsair 520, but thats just me)

Everyone keeps recommending the Asus P5Q, yet it has the most ANNOYING 24pin ATX location I could possibly imagine for some one like me who likes to keep wires out the way ;) I would pay the extra £4 and get the pro as it has it in a much better location :)
