Right. I killed my mobo.

Oops....

So I'm now moving over to an intel c2d processor, after many long years as an AMD fan (this is killing me even typing this!)

Would appreciate any opinions on the combo:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.66GHz (1333FSB) - Retail

Would potentially be overclocking (I'd almost say definite

), but I have no idea what to look for in an intel proc/mobo.

Would appreciate and advice!

(cheaper is good, id rather not pay too much more if I could help it, but suggest away!)

I think the DS4 is more highly regarded.

Go for a cheaper CPU regardless, you'll be able to clock to over 3GHz either way.

I'm presuming that the E6750 is the better processor, and that its just a price cut on the E6750? Its priced lower than the E6600. This seems like a good deal to me if I'm following the naming convention correctly (as the number goes up so does the performance?)

You'll need a motherboard that does 1333mhz fsb though.

But it is a better processor thats just been priced down yeah?
