Looks like I need to splash some cash as my PC is playing up (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18135032).

Requirements:

- Intel
- 8GB RAM
- Two PCI-E graphic card slots
- At least six Intel SATA RAID slots, preferably more if possible
- Quad Core CPU
- ~120GB SSD for OS drive

I'm not up to speed with all the i5/i7 stuff but presumably that is what I would want nowadays?

Thanks

You might just be able to stretch to an i5, but i doubt very much, it would probably be best to go AMD but if you want to stick with intel an i3 would probably be the best bet.

£500 to 600?

You'd be (very) lucky to pick it up 2nd hand for that price. :p

Edit - if all you actually need is mobo/cpu/ram/cooler/ssd and you want an Intel quad then you'll be looking at this kind of budget:

He didnt say he needed a cooler so that 42£ off but still brings it to £742

OK scrap the SSD for now.

What about this, guys?

Would this run the full 12GB with no problems? I just want it to "work". I'm not an overclocker. All "Auto" BIOS settings for me, if possible, thanks!

Because, amazingly, a i7 920 is cheaper than a i7 860. And 12GB of DDR3 tri-chan was basically the same price as 8GB DDR3 dual-chan.

wat I mean is I have 6GB of triple chan on mine and hardly ever use anything close to that, so u are wasting money in a way, just get 6GB.

EDIT: ur choice neway tho, get it if that's wat u want, just a suggestion
