spec me:

- Budget of no more than £325 ideally. Can stretch to £350 at a push

- Needs to be AMD Looking for AMD bulldozer or piledriver if my budget can stretch.

- Will only need a small hdd for the install of windows I have 2 x 1 TB drives already for all my data.

- keyboard mouse monitor and operating system are not required

- I would be pickup up parts locally so no shipping is needed

- Already have a case (with no PSU). Lain Li full server case.

- System will not be overclocked but I would like it to run quiet. Obvoisly I expect air coolng at this price not watercooling.

- Will be using this for gaming , will only be running this on a single monitor for now, for example Id like to play Oblivion, at the highest settings at 1920 x 1200.

That's the dual core A6 using 1600mhz RAM and you can see it does well enough. If you use faster RAM it helps the IGP out. You can drop in a better GPU later on if you so wish.

A 2nd hand GPU like the nvidia 1GB 460 or AMDs 6850 would be good (~50) if you can find one. Then you could consider......

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £179.99
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-GEN3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 (MB-380-GI) £52.00
1 x Avexir Core Blue Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CW) - Blue Light £40.00
1 x XFX Pro 450W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £39.95
Total : £311.93 (includes shipping : FREE).

Lets get this straight, you are looking for:

Amd Cpu, mobo+ram, Psu, small hdd and a Gpu to play Oblivion at "at the highest settings at 1920 x 1200", all for £350.

Well, good luck with that one.

very useful response. Actually the original build that was suggested seems like a viable option and I will be looking into it.
