Spec me Vista. (Please!)

As the title, I have an AMD 64 3000+, Nforce 3 Gigabyte mobo & 1GB DDR 400 RAM, 6800LE graphics AGP.

I have a spare 120GB IDE drive thats ripe for a new dual boot install of XP, but I've decided to go for Vista after seeing it on a mates lappy.

Thinking of the £57 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM - 1Pk (66G-00660).

I assume, I'll be able to use the cheaper OEM as I always have previously with XP?

Just like some confirmation before I go into OC during the week to buy.

I wouldn't get basic. Its missing a many features including areo:

Get premium.

Oh and OEM is fine, just when/if you upgrade you mother board you will officially need a new copy of vista. However ms will prob activate it for you if u call.

nah, you want to avoid basic. it looks like crap. it has no aero glass and even though it might seem like a gimmick, aero basic and the windows classic themes really are ugly. try and find the extra few pennies (ok it's 20 squids) for home premium.
