Hi folks, looking to watercool my rig shortly for the 1st time so can anyone recommend me what to get with a budget of £300-£400? I'll be looking to do a cpu and graphics card loop.

Current set up:
Case - Corsair C70
Motherboard - Gigabyte 990FXA UD3
CPU - AMD FX8350
Corsair H100i
RAM - 16GB Corsair Vengeance
Graphics - EVGA GTX780
PSU - Superflower 1000w (White)
1 SSD Drive
2xSATA HDD
Lamptron FC6 Fan Controller
NZXT Hue
BluRay Drive
Fans:
2X120mm Enermax Cluster Front Intake
1X120mm Enermax Cluster On HDD Cage
1x120mm Enermax Cluster Rear Exhaust
140mm Fan Bottom Intake
2x120mm Noctua NF-F12 Top Exhaust on Radiator.

As it's my 1st time, would I be better with a Kit or buying individual parts?

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.

;)

Looks nice.

A kit is just a collection of part, so it won't be any better than buying separately, it just mean you don't have to pick the individual parts you want.

I assume a black and white theme? :)

Have you got a reference 780, like this one:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2781-KR) £389.99
Total : £399.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

It's the Military Green Case so it's more a green, white and touch of black theme.

I've got a reference 780, it's the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC ACX Superclock 3072MB

looks good mate, cheers. will have a closer look after dinner but liking it so far. I have another 2 Noctua fans so will probably use those and save me a few quid, unless the corsair ones are a lot better.

cool user name as well :)

Ahhh i didnt even clock your user name!

Noctua make some fans which are great for radiators but depends on their model.

The blocks are high end blocks made by EK and there really isnt much out there that can beat them. The CPU block is universal, so if you upgrade to a different socket eventually, like i have done on many of my builds, you will appreciate it.

Pump is the powerful but tiny EK 4.0 pump sporting 800lph flow and a ton of head. This pump imo is the best value performance pump available and is only really beaten by pumps which are expensive and require pump tops which can push teh price to double the 4.0 pump. That said, these pumps in loops like yours, will give the same performance as the more expensive D5 or the upper end DDC's. It is 18W and can be hooked up to your fan controller if noise is an issue.

Radiators are amazing, have been spamming the forum about them since their release. There is nothing that comes close to performance for value at that radiator thickness.

Fittings are a bit expensive but look nice and are secure. Drop to EK compression if you want to bring the price down.

The reservoir is a small bay reservoir. This is down to personal preference whether you prefer bay reservoirs or tube reservoirs. Pump/bay combos tend to be noisier but this build has the pump separate, so a bay res is not an issue when it comes to noise.

Tubing is Primochill, which is rated as a top brand in my books and my first choice buy when it comes to rubber tubing. I find this tubing take much longer to cloud or stain and is very easy to work with.

The coolant is a pre-mix by mayhems. They have among the highest shelf life and contains all the additives to prevent corrosion, algae growth and is also electrically conductive until it gets contaminated. I have had puddles of Mayhems on my GPU PCB while the PC was on for an hour before noticing that i had a hole in one of my radiators. Apart from staining the warranty stickers, not one component was damaged! Also the colour is a limited edition colour and will look baller!

Excellent mate, thanks for the info and taking time to type it all out. All sounds good to me and will go ahead with what you suggested. Been saving for Download Festival but I think I can stretch the budget for this as well.

If you don't here from me again then the girlfriend has murdered me lol.

Thanks again for all that :)

Ha no problem. Goodluck explaining it to the bird.

Hopefully you will survive long enough to see A7X at download, I myself am trying to scrap cash for it but this PC business is not cheap business :)

She's getting a couple of bottles of wine tonight then i'll break the news gently.

Nothing will keep me from seeing A7X this time.

Nope it certainly isn't cheap but it's fun lol. Hope you get to download mate, i'll buy you a beer if you make it :)

Well after a few measurements it looks like a 240mm rad won't fit the bottom of my case. My PSU is 200mm so with cables I have no chance of getting the rad to fit.
Would a 120mm rad with a 240 be enough to cool my cpu and gpu?

Anyone got any suggestions on what would be the best way to set up my loop?
Here is my current build:

If I could take out the HDD cage then I could get a 240mm Rad in front. I've already got rid of one HD and I can mount my SSD behind the motherboard. I'd just need to find a way to mount my HD.

Or should I just go with a 240mm top and a 120mm at rear?

Also would the pump be ok on the bottom of the case?

Sorry for all the questions lol.
