For once its a spec me post but without the requirement for any equipment! :D

I'm looking to go on holiday at the start of October and would like to do some landscape / architecture photography. Ideally i would like to go somewhere which is warm, but not sweltering (scotsman in a hot country doesn't mix). I think my budget is around £1-1.5k which is to include flight / accommodation / spending money and the possibility of hiring a car as well.

Any recommendations? :)

Bit late in October but Canada could be an option, certainly fits the bill architecture and scenery wise (Vancouver would be my choice). Depending on what you mean by 'warm' Morocco could be nice that time of year (20-25 or so I'd say)

For landscapes and architecture i would say Cote D'Azure/South of France. Nice and warm, and absolutely beautiful. Plus if you drive down (can be done in a day) and camp you could do 2 weeks on £600 including fuel :) There are camp sites every 500 yards, and in every town along the coast. \Both times ive done it we start at one end (Dramont) then head East and stay in a different town every night until you hit Italy. Camp sites cost you about £8 per night with use of pools and showers etc.

Monaco (the Musee Oceonagraphique is stunning), Cannes, Nice.. all that area. And my absolute favourite a town called Eze which is not far from the border of Monaco. Google it for some awesome pics.

quite tempted by Las Vegas but might have to books things separately as the only flights appear to be air france which go through paris and take nearly 20hrs!

I'm now almost 100% sure that I'm going to be heading to Vegas in October for a bit of gambling and photography.

Now the difficult part. Where to go....by the looks of things my 'week' is going to end up as 5 days (give or take the jet lag) with the day traveling to and from Scotland with either one or two stops on the way.

I was contemplating hiring a car while i was there as it was only 150quid ontop of the hotel / flight but think I'll just end up with going on some excursions instead.

I reckon I'll base myself at the Stratosphere hotel and casino as there is a nice little tower which i can go up to take some panoramic photos of the city itself.

I think as well it would be rude not to go to the grand canyon for some panos as well.

Other than that I'm not too sure what else to go and see. Any recommendations from anyone who's been?
