Here are 2 specs i got for a complete PC i want to build. Mainly for gaming but still enough space for lots of images and webpages and PHP as i develop websites.

Spec one:

NEC 16x Dual Layer DVDRW (Black)

If anyone else can come up with a better PC for this budget please post.

System one is best, although I would drop the SLI motherboard as it's not needed. A cheaper one should have all the features you need. The 850 is still a good card - but perhaps you can squeeze in an X1800 series card?

System two is wrecked by the x1600 GPU - which is cr@p (according to CustomPCs review of all things graphical)
 
yeah but Custom PC don't know their arse from their elbow with tests, I'd rather ask guys on here about how they have experinaced the x1600 than trust customPC
 
Welcome to the forums. This might be suitable as a dual core option. As below I'd put the extra in the budget towards an Antec Sonata II as it has a 450w PSU.

I'm thinking there must be something I've missed.. cos it seems way too cheap to me :(.
 
True - the benchmarks are open to interpretation but you can draw some inferences from the in-game FPS scores and the number of pixel pipes on the X1600XT
