A printer!

I'm getting more and more annoyed with the range of printers out and i'm still stuck on what BRAND to buy let alone what MODEL!!

Are Epson still bad with the whole print head things?

Heard good things about Canon but I know the MP130 had problems with the 'Ink Absorber'

What models do people suggest to someone that needs to print work off but also wants decent pictures everynow and again.

I like the whole seperate ink things so would like that is possible along with cheap ink too...

The printers I have looked at are:

Epson RX585
Epson DX8400
Canon MP210
Canon MP220

Canon IP3500
Canon IP4500

Im not that keen on the MP210-220 really and prefer the Epson's if I went the MFD route but if people said the MFD route isn't that good then the Canon it is I guess...

Any suggestions on the above or any more I should be looking at?

I know the only printers I have looked at are both by the brands I moaned about at the start but... im so

Any help welcome, Doug.

No replies? :(

I have narrowed the above printers down to:

Epson DX8400
Epson RX585

Canon IP4500

If anyone has anything to add on these it would be great!

Also, if anyone has any otehr suggestions it would be great!

Cheers, Doug.

Hi Doug, I like Epson printers myself and have an RX620. Print quality is superb.

I have had a Canon ip4000r and we have now also got a canon ip4300. Both are running well and I find it a good feature that if one of the colours run out it doesn't print and gives you the opportunity to put a new cartridge in before it prints.

Also with epson's unlike most other brands when you change the cartridge you don't change the print head.

Cheers for the replies!

Have now narrowed it down to:

Epson DX8400/DX8450

Canon IP4500

Now it's between:

Do I want better print quailty? (Canon)

Do I want cheaper Inks? (Epson)

I think the Epson will run out quicker though...

Saying all this I really think I will end up with the Canon and get a separate scanner if I find I need one.

Cheers again, Doug.
