hey i recently had a misshap with my watercooling and its killed the system ive got £750 maximum to spend on a completely new machine any spec ideas ?
i generally do a bit of encoding and play games i also have a 24" monitor so needs to handle the 24" res

not bothered about how nice the case is just want something good for 750 would love an i7

, just torn between what spec to get

i really want a totally new system if im honest bored of it too ive already given the hdds to the parents and brothers but nothing else works , if i cant get an i7 then fair play but theres soo many combos out there realistically want someone just to point out a good current setup the E5200s look good cpus but what mobos will get 3.3 ghz roughly out of them

Hi there, here is my spec using the i7:

I did not include a cpu cooler and instead went for better graphics. The stock cooler should be fine for a small overclock (3.0GHz maybe more). If you want better cooling for the CPU, the titan fenrir is among the best and only costs £29 this week.

Up for telling us what the watercooling did? There's a lot of concern over dead components but I've seen few cases of watercooling actually killing things.

I admit I am less happy leaving my computer on overnight now it has water in it

i was doing maintenance on my loop on a very unstable table the table gave way then everything got covered in fezer one and a lot wont work no more

, but ive been wanting an i7 for a while now so its an excuse to upgrade
