Spec Me!

A friend of mine needs to buy a new pc...

He is seeing these items:

Intel Core 2 Quad
Asus P5Q Pro
Corsair XMS2 4GB

Can you tell me if they are good?

And if there are better can you spec a CPU, Motherboard and Ram for approximately the same price? (not more than 300 quid)

IT IS FAR BETTER THAN THE OP SPEC
Socket 775 is end of line now and i5 running on 1156 socket is definitely the way forward for you. Its a brand new socket and so should see new product for it for a good few years

Adds an extra £10 so just over budget at £302.

Far better system though, faster, cooler and more power efficient.
