Hi guys,

I'm looking to water cool my current rig (spec in sig) and was wondering if a single 420 radiator in push pull config up top would be enough? Or would I be best putting a 280 in the front as well? I'm planning on running overlocks on the cpu and gpu's. I don't use any of the drive bays in my 750D so they can be stripped out for more space. Looking to spend £400-£500 keeping with my red and black theme.

Cheers

Your budget is tight if you want to make the build look flash. I would forget the 140mm type rads, especially if budget is tight. There is a premium on them which does not justify the performance. They are also much harder to find cases to accommodate if you ever change them. The money is better spent on more radiator or better performing 120mm radiators. Money can be saved by going with EK fittings and is the minimum amount of rad i would consider if clocking GPUs and CPU is the aim.

This is pretty much what you would like.

The EK PE series is very worthy IMO, cheap but high performance (not as much as the XTX series IMO but well :) )

Thanks for the input guys. If £500 is too tight a budget what would a more realistic target be for the kind of water cooling I'm looking for?

For a loop this size, your on the border of whether you would consider either doubling up on the pump and turning it down or changing it to something a little quieter but more expensive. The above spec is easily enough for your needs without cutting corners but it comes to 520 and would require angle fittings to neaten the loop up.

Angle fittings come in at £6-£10 each, which and how many depend on how you plan your loop.

If it were me, i would double up on the pump, because two of those are insanely powerful, still relatively cheap and incredibly reliable. You will be able to turn it down a few notches too (with a fan controller) if you double up, making for a quieter loop. Others prefer a single higher flow pump like a D5, which though is far more expensive, does not need a fan controller to turn down and is overall a bit quieter.

Ok cool, thanks again. I'll probably stretch the budget a bit more and double up the pump, I mainly game with headphones on so noise isnt too much of an issue but I do watch stuff on sky go etc through speakers.
