I have just added a 1440@144hz monitor and a vega64 to my old [email protected] system. I was waiting for ces before deciding what to do. Now it looks like Ryzen 2 is at least 6 months away so want a stop gap that can be used with a ryzen2 cpu when they a availlable. I am looking at a ryzen5 2600x,an X470 mb and 16 gb of memory. The plan is to just swapp out the cpu when ryzen 2 becomes availlable .. What MB and memory are recomended? want to stay at about £500 but can go up a bit ... !0% or so!!

Is the 2500K struggling ? If not then I would stick it out until May/June and see if we get a solid release date at Computex. Then you can get a new X570 board and Ryzen 3rd gen at the same time and maybe save up a bit more in the meantime :D At least then you won't lose any money by having to sell a 'stopgap' cpu.

would hold! you'd either have to grab flagship X470 board when X570 would be roughly the same price , along with better ram support and PCIe 4 to last for next gen cards etc

boards will be on display at Computex in June ! designs look nice too :)

if not i'd just push Ryzen 2700x and x470 and wait for Zen2+/3 in 2020 - which would be more optimised etc
