My dad is looking for another Desktop replacement and will spent upto £1200-300. Less is better though. Preferably around £1000 mark to add other things.

This needs to be as future proof as possible and overall a powerhouse.

All i specify is that it will be used for gaming, needs 160GB HDD atleast, 19" Widescreen (may upgrade later on).

Aswell as this, we need a full spec. Monitor, Keyboard, Case. Everything.

TIA

Case/Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor/Speakers are really something you should decide on, depending on you preferences. I've just gone for a simple, no frills approach.

Yeah i had a spec similar to that. We wont be overclocking (well not for a while anyway).

We will order speakers later & have O/S (should have stated sorry).

I'll rephrase what im asking for:

Mobo, CPU, RAM, HDD, GFX Card, Case/PSU, Monitor, Keyboard/Mouse, Optical Drives

If you take out the OS & speakers, i've almost hit your target of £1000. :)
I'd suggest a better monitor (not sure which model, but something a little better would be nice). Perhaps you could drop in an Intel E6600 Core2Duo, if your budget allows. Apart from that, its pretty decent.

We really only need a 19" tbh. Takes up a bit much space with other laptops/desktops.

We're trying to now stick to £900-1000 (decided to take extra for new router/speaker system).

Ive had a thought about:

Gigabyte DS3
C2D E6300/6400
2GB Corsair RAM
520W Corsair PSU
Lian Li PC7+ (when in stock)
X1950Pro/XT OR is 8800GTS worth the extra?

The 8800GTS is definately worth it. I was being conservative. Good choice.
Ill try fit it into my budget ;) although we dont game heavily so would it be slightly overkill?

definatly overkill, my x1600 does me highest everything for cs:s and bf2, almost highest everything for fear so it does the job, go for a x1800 or similar

plus also, why do you need new pheripherals if you are updating an old system??

We're not upgrading. Completely new system. Giving old away :)

ahh i see, hmmm, my system does me justice with gaming as well, perhaps if you upgraded my gfx card, and went c2d e6300 then im pretty sure that rig would be good, also get a p5b delux or ds3

if you got that superb

ohh also get at least 2gig ram

but unfortunatly i know nothing about moniters, i still use my nice big crt :D

however i find that a standard microsoft keyboard is fine, but get a decent laser mouse
