Hey guys,

If any of you have the time could you spec my friend a new gaming rig please:

Base unit only: Budget £600-£800
Prim. use: Gaming \m/
Pref. AMD

does he need monitor? keyboard? mouse? speakers? etc.

a bit more info needed.

Also why does he need amd?? what is the reason behind that?
 
Bit of a big price difference there 600 - 800 quid
Anyway spec'd it more towards 800 quid and this is based on just the base unit only. Oh and you need Intel Conroe not AMD :p

I would really go for the Intel system over the AMD. Much more performance for your money.

Just the tower needed. He's already sorted for monitor/mouse/keyboard.
AMD is just his personal preference but that's based on previous experiences.

I think all that matters is the system is a best as it can be :)
