Spec my mate a PC please

At the moment my mate is using a pc with a 120gb drive, barton 2ghz cpu and gefore 5200 grahics card. He wants a new pc but doesnt game, just wants it for moveis, net and the odd game now and again.

He would like a few options

Option 1 around £150
Option 2 around £200
Option 3 around £300

Motherboard
RAM
CPU
Grahics card
Hard drive (at least 500gb)
Case (has to be black)
Mouse (has to be black)
Keyboard (has to be black)
 
no, not crysis either. I think the only games he has played in the past 6 years are need for speed underground and Medal of honour

he doesnt need a monitor, he's already got one.

I did a spec with everything i said, an AM2 setup and it came to £244 inc delivery. The cpu and graphics card were slightly better than what he needs. He probably doesnt need 2gb ram either

You said that he games every so often though... that graphics card is just capable of running Vista's Aero, let alone any games. Hell, you might as well get a motherboard with integrated instead of that card.

Oh and you've forgotten a PSU.

Ok, he games hardly ever. The NC10 im on now can run mohaa, call of duty and need for speed.

How much would a setup be that is cheaper than an NC10? For £300 he might aswell get an NC10 and a portable hard drive

My go...i would say go for a slightly solid gfx card incase he may want to try any new game, a Radeon 4670/9600GT can play them pretty well still and Seasonic psus are brilliant.
