My dear old my has decided to cancell her expensive V.Media Tivo and internet. Just costing her way too much.
I suggested getting one of those Freeeview recorderes but I have never seen one in action and would not know a good one from a bad one.

So I thought I recon somebody on here could help out.

She wants to be able to pause and rewind live TV. Record TV.
There is more than likely NOT going to be any internet.

Her Freeeview enabled TV gets a pretty damn good picture via the roof aerial.

Anybody recomend a decent box for the job ?

I've been very pleased with my Panasonic DVR. I bought a Humax for my mother and she dislikes it intensely because it has to be on all the time.

I've had two Humax Freeview PVR's and both have been excellent, the latest generations of all these things benefit massively from an internet connection though allowing great integration of catch-up services even with a cheap adsl connection.

Can you vies content from an external hard drive on a Humax? I notice it has a USB connection.

Waw! Just realised i can put films onto the USB pendrive from the Humax freeview and vice versa!!
