Hey guys, my big sis has been wanting to spend some money on a reliable PC that she can do her uni work on, as well as watching films and so on. Over the years she's been wasting money on little mac books and so on, which get so slow she just doesn't bother using them.

I got directed here for my first rig, and you guys were fantastic, so hopefully she'll get the same impression :)

She's looking for something that:
  • Lasts a while
  • Is reliable
  • Is able to cope with having several Word docs open, as well as at least 10+ tabs in chrome and while watching films/shows on netflix.
  • possibility of adding to it over time, such as dual monitor, etc.
Her budget is around £400, but If its worth it I can scrape some money help out.

I've got some spare stuff I can give her, such as mouse, keyboard and monitor.

The 4130 can handle 3 monitors so you will be ok, the cpu will handle the above fine :)

Okay that's good. So she'll just need a GPU and then she can invest in a new monitor and be good to go?

As she's standing right over me, I doubt me showing any pictures of her would be wise, pretty sure I'd get clipped over the ear lol :P

The onboard GPU on the CPU will be fine :)

The I3 option suggested is good for the budget, I did try and put an AMD APU build together but its over budget:

The reason I put it as because the onboard graphics are better than the I3 and you could make it slightly cheaper by opting for a cheaper heat sink or doing away with the ssd or a few things. But wanted to put the option out there.
