It is but does it have any OS or Security updates left?

10.mths I see. For me that spells dead weight.

I really don't understand this sentiment, I've been using a Mate 20 x for 6 years now, Android 9 and no Security updates, it functions as normal? The phone doesn't stop working after updates have finished.

Given that so much of my personal data is on my phone I prefer at the very least that security updates are kept up to date.

Others may not care and I get that.

Not bad. What's the battery like? No wireless charging and only USB 2 OTG with 25W slower charging? Bit behind on that. Also no telephoto lens or portrait mode/blur feature? < I just skim read specs vs the cheaper OnePlus 9 Pro so may have missed something.
On par otherwise though.

I looked at A55 briefly for a friend but being a midrange phone, OnePlus 9 Pro which was a flagship probably has it beat still on a few things apart from length of software support.

In the end settled on Poco X6 Pro, that was recently on sale for £269 (512GB model) straight from Xiaomi.

I would take a look at the Oneplus phones great deals to be had.

If you want really cheap cheap then the Moto G04 looks decent for only £89 (even cheaper on ebay).
