I've been out of the loop but have done some research and have my eyes on a i 3570k. Is this the best bang for buck cpu and the one to go for?

Please spec me:
CPU
RAM (16GB)
Motherboard

I have a £300-400 budget in mind but don't mind upping it a bit if the recommendations are worthwhile.

Thanks.

No I'm not planning to crossfire. I have a Coolmaster 330 case.

I can't decide which RAM to buy :D. Corsair, Gskill or Patriot one as above? Reliability is the most important for me. I want some recommendations for a cpu fan too. Thanks.

Your case takes a cooler upto 163mm in height - http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=30

Maximum Compatibility VGA card length: 230mm / 9.05 inch
CPU cooler height: 163mm / 6.4 inch

This cooler is 160mm and a decent price/performance - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-107-TR&groupid=701&catid=2330&subcat=2352

I prefer Corsair RAM and the Patriot is high profile RAM which will be hard to find a aftermarket cooler which fits

The Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure will fit in the Cooler Master 330 case and can overclock the CPU to around 4.5GHz,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £29.99
Total : £35.96 (includes shipping : £4.98).

The Patriot isn't really tall, the Alpenfohn cooler for example will clear it.

The Thermalright True Spirit 120 is a thin cooler, the fan will clear the first dimm slot.
