Spec Options?

Hi

I am after a simple spec to update my everyday machine, not wanting to spend a lot but would like a reasonable machine that will last a few years. I already have the following which I will reuse
Antec 300 Case
Corsair HX520 PSU
DVD Writer

Not yet sure if I am going to run Windows 7 or 8.1.

Not sure whether to run the on-board grahics or separate card, if I do run a separate card I will only be looking at spending around £40

My current machine has I built in Jan 2009 so something that will last a decent amount of time is my aim.

Very little gaming, maybe some sim city from time to time, will be mainly photo editing, office apps net surfing etc.

I have an old quad core chip at the moment and its been good and has lasted well.

Not sure how amd compare to the new Intel chips, I understand haswell is a step up from 1155.

Good spot, I was going to put in an fx piledriver chip but read the A10 is better for onboard grphics.
