Hi all, im after a bit of an upgrade as im still on AGP graphics cards and a socket 754 mobo, and I may have a chance at selling the PC minus the bits I want to keep (DVD rw, HD's, sound card, Wifi) for around £400

What can that get me nowadays, I guess id need a new case, PSU, Mobo, Processor and a graphics card. I would like this to be able to be upgraded and am willing to throw in a bit of my own money at it to make it do able, say another £200ish max

Just open to suggestions really, this is a bit of a new idea for before I go out tonight. I do allot of web browsing, have a 19" pc monitor and 32" HD LCD tv running it so I watch allot of downloaded Tv (all legal stuff) and I like to play the latest and greatest games when I can, although its not important that there all on high, just nicely playable.

Is a direct X10 card the way to go at this price level or are we talking £1000's here for a build of this kind?

Thanks guys

Thanks, iv never gone Pentium before, atm I have a 3200 AMD 64, will the pentium do 64 bit, im guessing its duel core, what kind of equivalent is it to athlon, an AMD 64 4300 at a guess?

Edit: Oh god, iv just seen all the different chip sizes, whats the latest to oldest, im guessing this is just like socket 754, 939 for AMD's etc etc
