Hello all

I wondered if you could speak me a PC with the following:

An E8400 CPU, appropriate Mobo (X38??) and some RAM - i want to be able to achieve about ~ 4Ghz if possible.

I also need a gfx card (possilby GTS 512Mb or GTX as i game @ 1920)

I got a WDRaptor/Seagate .11 for HDs

Would also like a new optical drive, is a BLuRay player a good investment or stick to a plain DVDRW?

Also need a new OS, Vista - 32 or 64bit - which one would give me better performance? I may get 4GB RAM in the future

I also have a 700W Modular PSU to power it all :D

wouldnt bother with blue ray at the moment , stick with dvd-rw.

go for a gtx being as u're running @ 1920.

if you're going for vista go with the 64bit.

might help too know the budget for the mobo etc.
 
Would all of this work together:

e8400 + LG775 cooler

4GB DDR2 Crucial B. PC8500 (id like the 8500 as i dont want to push the ram 2 far)

8800GTX OcUK

Vista 64bit Home Premium

SATA DVDRW Drive

and either: ASUS Maximus Formula, MSI X38 Diamond or Asus P5E ??????

yup no obvious reason why not as far as i can see.

can't really advise about the x38 mobo's, best bet is have a looksee in the mobo forum see whats going on.

you want too go for the 4ghz might want to think of a tuniq cooler or similar.
