Hi

I will be getting these in next few weeks an i wanted to ask a few questions before i part with my money.

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...rodid=MY-072-OC

Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...rodid=MB-124-AB

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...rodid=CP-126-IN

1. Would my Enermax Nosietaker 485w PSU be enough to handle this along with an x1950xt?

2. Would i see a huge improvement over my amd 4000+ at 3050ghz?

3. Is the mobo good for overclocking or do u recommend any other (below £120)?

4. Is the cpu any good for overclocking or should i get the 6400?

Thanks.

I orginally posted in cpu section, but i realised that it was in the wrong section.

I would personally get the 6400 and an Asus P5B motherboard (£83). Then pick up a decent aftermarket cooler and it'll overclock very nicely indeed.

Your current PSU will be fine.

i have decided to up my budget and get this:-

Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Is this any better or are there any other that can be recommended, although the p5b does look good but i want dual graphics eventually

I have also decided to get the 6400 due to the slightly higher multi

Spending more on a 680i board isn't worth the extra, and this is from a 680i owner! Sure it is a great board, but then so is the P5B.

Dual graphics is a waste of money if you don't have a 30" monitor.

The e4300 has an even higher multi than the e6400, so you could get that ;)

After some consideration thanks to the advice given i have decided to get the following:

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...rodid=MY-072-OC

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-061-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=565

But hopefully the ds3p (3.3) revision if ocuk stocks them and they're the same price.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-127-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793

With money saved from not getting the 680i mobo i could get a decent cpu cooler e.g. the tuniq tower or scythe ninja.

I think that sounds like plan, thanks for the help :)
