Spec Request: 9800X3D, best MoBo for gaming

If you were buying now, what would you go for when choosing best Motherboard & RAM combo for a 9800X3D.

Purely gaming setup, not fussed about overclocking I just want best compatibility and decent quality without having to be top tier.

A reasonably priced B850 board, assuming you want PCI-E 5.0 and don't care about USB4. If you do care about USB4, X870. If you want lots of M.2 slots, maybe the X870E Tomahawk or ASRock's Nova, other boards tend to knock the GPU lanes down when more than 2 slots are occupied (not important with most cards, but eh).

Is the USB 4 and M.2 slots something you need? If they're not (e.g. you have just 1 or 2 drives), I wouldn't be spending that much.

They're both fine, but the Aorus Elite has a higher spec, e.g. mildly superior VRM, better audio codec and rear SPDIF, WIFI7, more USB ports.
