Spec request - AMD Based 8 core server

Hi

Looking at getting a server up and running to test hyper-v, terminal server, exchange and file server.

Ideally looking at something that has 8-cores

AMD seems to be the cheapest option. But willing to consider Intel.

Budget is £1000

Looking for something that is not in a full tower case.

Not worried about graphics, on board will be fine.

16GB ram.

Would like to have a minimum of 3 drives in Raid 5. As much total storage as possible

Space would be as max as possible.

Do not need keyboard, mouse or monitor.

A couple of points, a 900 series mobo can only be full ATX, FX series CPU's do not have onboard graphics.

In this case with your budget, i would go for Intel.

EDIT I will not spec here myself as there may be several better opinions on whether 1150 or 2011, haswell, haswell-E or Xeon.

(I am an AMD fan, so do not have a bias in the opposite direction)

ok a full atx motherboard then....

Is it doable on that sort of budget?

I would recommend Haswell i7, with Haswell you could go Micro ATX or even MiniITX with the superb Fractal Node 304 case and a few WD Red HDD's.
