Afternoon all.

My girlfriend's Dad is after a PC for home use, no gaming.
He has seen the Zoostorm desktops advertised elsewhere and I'm wondering if it's possible to build something similar (out of better parts) for similar (ish) money?
It's his birthday in 2 weeks, so I'm not very hopeful I'll get it done. But any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What is the budget? And what are the specs of the PCs he has been looking at (no competitor links, of course)?

Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz
- 8GB RAM
- 1TB HDD
- DVD Writer
- No Operating System

One of them is that spec which is £270. But I hear the PSU used in these machines are cheap and loud and I'd prefer to build it for him anyways
I would say the budget is about £300?

Thanks for the replies!
Without meaning to open up a can of worms here - How would the dual core Intel stack up against the quad core AMD chips?

As this machine won't be used for gaming, just general browsing, a bit of office stuff etc I'm guessing the cheaper Intel chip would suffice ok?

He may need a wifi card too...

Yeah, it should be more than fine. I think most office-type programs (office, internet etc) only use a single or two cores, so you should be okay. Wifi cards I think are about £20, you could get a dongle too if you wanted.

I'm favouring the AMD build but with the 5600k.
What do you think?
Will the mother board come with sata cables? (I can't see that it says so or not)

Something new might be released tomorrow.

It could be good it could be pants, it could be expensive it maybe priced inline with other stuff.
