Hi folks,

Its been a couple of years since I last built a PC so I'm a bit out of touch with whats hot and whats not. It will be used for 1920x1200 gaming mostly.

I've come up with the following build but would appreciate some advice on the following areas.

1) Case - I used a P182 before and was impressed with its quietness, but I remember the PSU being a little tight. Will the Corsair TX750 fit OK?

2) PSU - Is the PSU I've selected powerful enough for the components? I'll be expecting to overclock moderately both CPU and GFX.

3) HD4890 x2 vs Nvidia 275GTX x2. I'm not brand loyal, just want the best performance for my money. Doesnt seem to be much between these 2.

Any other areas that could be improved without changing the budget significantly? Lets say a hard cap of £1300 inc VAT.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail £208.99

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £143.99

Asus ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card x2 £329.98

Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - Gun Metal Black (No PSU) £114.99

Corsair TX 750W ATX SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-750TXUK) £95.99

Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency Tri-Channel (PVT36G1600LLK) £84.99

Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103UJ) x2 £129.98

Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366) £52.99

Netgear WG311 54Mbps Wireless Desktop PCI Network Adapter £28.74

Sony Optiarc AD-7241S 24x DVD±RW SATA Lightscribe Optical Drive (Black) - OEM £18.99

Noctua NF-P12 Vortex-Control 120mm Quiet Case Fan - 3 Pin x3 £51.72

Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound £4.59

Total inc VAT £1,265.92

The psu fit's fine with it in the case.
The gtx 275 in sli has better performance but comes at a price compared to two 489
All looks good to me. :)

Haven't used the case personally, so i couldn't say. Although if the case specs say it can take standard ATX 2 then yeah, it should fit.

That PSU should be fine, and with some headroom.

You'll defiantly get better performance with the 4890x2, since one 4890 out performs the 285. But the thing is, nVidia cards have PhysX and CUDA, which can be amazing. But there aren't that many games that support it, so you know, it's personal preference...
