I have a lightning 290x and still am considering going crossfire. I play at 5760x1080 triple screen 60hz and could do with a little extra. I have been holding out for the next amd card but maybe someone can estimate when we are likely to see the 290x successor? or should i just pull the trigger and get a second 290x now. Thing is i cant fit a second lightning on my z77 ud5, so i would have to move it down to the second slot, and get a two slot amd card for the top one. But which one would be better considering the heat issues and not get throttled sitting above the lightning? I always have my case open for the record. I notice the PSU i have had my eye on has gone back down this week to £150 the superflower 1300watt. I assume that will handle crossfire well, with regard to rails and all. so for £400 odd i can get a nice little upgrade, and pass my 750 watt PSU im using to my son, who can then install a second 680 i have laying around.
