I need a SFF computer as im new to building these things, and the gf needs to able to run photoshop, flash, and any video editing. I'd give it a budget of around 4-500 without monitor and needs to be pretty.
:P

Do your best guys!

i'd say something like a black or white colour for the case and prefer the cube to save a load of space :D

as for cpu, i'd prefer if it was Intel 775 chipset, enough for graphics work, and powerful enough to play games as a possible bonus :P

as for storage, hmm.. i'd say around 500gb would be enough, as budget is really limited.

I've tried working out a nice budget machine with the OCuk shopping cart, but it just ends up being really expensive :s

wow, looks good at 347.75 minus delivery.

is there a huge performance gap between the E5200 and the E8400?

yeah one thing im afraid of is the size of the graphics card being too long and not being able to fit :(

but i still want her to have a decent graphics card so she can join me on games :P

EDIT: looks like i'd have to hunt down a mATX motherboard too for those 2 cases, but they're pretty sweet looking :D

oh... so that'll go above budget :(

I still think the quad is a little bit pricey imo, as the new photoshop edition relies more on the GPU, so i'd stick to dual core.

hmm.. she plays MMO's and a load of puzzle games at the moment. Nothing really high spec'd, but hoping with the new computer she'll be playing something with a bit more graphical detail :P

hmm im considering the build that jellybeard999 recommended but with a E8400, graphics card wise im still worried that it wont fit inside the shuttle :(

With Tosk's recommended build it goes over budget.. as i need to purchase the case, psu and motherboard.

i was thinking of putting maybe a 9600GT, but im not sure how power consuming these would be, also the length of the card may be an issue :(

i have a thing with ATi cards.... i mean AMD, they never seem to live long with me.

but i'll go check this one out, if the price and power consumption fits.. i'll consider it...
