So need a case and psu

Like the lian li pc7 but not in stock. Antec P180??? not sure i like the Antec 900 (bit young for me)

Is this motherboard overpriced for what it is? Is the memory compatible?

Also please recommend a psu and anything else i have missed.

The Antec P180 looks quite good but I have heard that the case door is a bit flimsy, you could look at the Akasa Eclipse 62 which is around the same price and well liked or maybe one of the higher priced Lian-Li's if the PC7 doesn't come back into stock.

The motherboard is very fully featured and works well with the 6600, Asus also build very solid motherboards and the memory is compatible.

PSU depends on your budget, something of 430w+ should be fine, look at Corsair, Enermax, FSP, Seasonic and Tagan. Anything from one of them ought to be ok.

If you want a different hard drive then the Seagate 7200.10 would be faster although possibly marginally noisier. :)

Thanks for the advice. Was going to go for Seagate initially then changed to Samsung. Have changed back now. Currently got Seagate drives and have had no problems so should stick with what i know really.

Cheers

After much deliberation I have decided to go for the Antec P180 case so will probably go for an Antec psu for two reasons.

1) My current psu is Antec and I have had no issues with that
2) Would hopefully be designed with their own cases in mind.

Have also now read that the 7900GTO is faster than the 7950GT.

Advice please

 how's that possible when they all have to follow a standard design (i.e. ATX & has to fit other non Antec cases)?

Reason 1 is good enough, but just know they are other better built PSU like the one I mentioned :)

I had read that you require a long 12 pin connector becaues the PSU goes in its own section at the bottom of the P180 case and thought the Antec PSU's might be designed with their own cases in mind.

Can anyone comment on this and also the diff between the 7900 GTO and the 7950GT?

....and should I open the wait for DX10 bag of worms
