ok lads
let's rattle those brains abit
after a hard think about overclocking my mobo the other week (post under o/c section )i came to the conculsion that a new build would be better for me and pass on my old mobo to young son.
so i have been reading abit about the sandybridge 15 2500k 3.30ghz chip
but i would have to say i would have to buy it from another retailer as it's £10.10p cheaper than o/c unless they can match the price.
but am a bit confused which motherboard to get.i need one that it be easy to overclock to get the best results.and some info on the best memory to get
at the moment i will be keeping my ati 5870 card for a bit untill more funds come along.
all replys weclome

all looks good
but what other alternatives as i might be able to squeeze a bit more ££ by £50-60
also forgot to say that its only going to be used for gaming only
need it to last for aleast 3yrs

thanks lads for your replies
i don't really wont to go asrock way if i can help it as some people have said to me they can be a pain in the butt
not sure how true it is?
am getting closer of departing some cash soon so i need more advice on which motherboard to go with.i made my mind up on the I K sandy bridge
so i think around the £160-£170 for the board.
do i buy the chip first or motherboard then memory?
i need more opinions please

Asrock aren't bad and quite a few members of this forum have that board without many complaints - there's no reason not to consider their boards.

You don't need to spend that much on a mother board - max £150 but you'll get everything you'll need around the £130-40 mark for Z68 or £110-120 for P67.

Here's a couple more alternatives anyway:

Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** £149.98

Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £139.94

And with regards to RAM - might be able to tempt you with this - amazing deal
