It was getting ridiculous for me £15k+
Where do you draw the line though, fill every sata port, fill every PCI slot, fill every drive bay? How many screens 6 Dell 30's in Eyefinity?
If building the ultimate at the moment i'd probably still got EVGA SR-2 and a pair of the fastest Xeon's available. While the odd thing may be faster on an 2600k, 12 Xeon cores will be faster at most things, and well, since money is no object!, lets face it most of us could afford a sandy build, but few would ever consider spending over 3 grand on just the mobo/cpu's alone, so since ocuk is paying :D

Thats not exactly going to cost you an arm and a leg.

No need to spend thousands on a system for gaming.
