Speccing a gaming P.C

My friend is looking at getting a new gaming P.C

Pretty much looking for an i5 / GTX670 / SSD /

What brands are looking good at the moment for a complete build and what kind of price is he looking at?

It all depends on what budget he has in mind. If its above £750-£800 then your delving into the higher end of the spectrum so better componants are available.

If its at the High end -

i5 3570 K - Good for overclocking
Windforce GTX 670 or KFA2 GTX 670 Factory Overclocked
Samsung 830 or Crucial M4 SSD

etc etc

Stay well clear of the Corsair H100 cpu coolers, they have a pump grinding noise which 99% of users have had and the only fix for it is a modification to the power supply it takes (ie resistors in circuit)

A little over budget with shipping costs but you could go for a cheaper CPU cooler and go for air cooling rather than watercooling and change the graphics card if you want but the case is always down to personal taste so again can be swapped for cheaper one

Thanks for that. Will probably stick with air cooling so downgrade that a bit. The graphics card is spot on - it's the one I was looking at (and wish I had!).
