I need to put a spec together for some mid range graphics workstations. I'm thinking there no need to go 6 core or above, so top end Haswell is probably fine, they will need LOTS of RAM and probably a low to mid range Nvidia based gpu (Cuda cores and Adobe play well together).
I'm happy speccing most of it it's just really the different flavors and features on the motherboards I wasn't sure of. I'm generally an Asus fan and I will be overclocking these machines a little, but SLI or crossfire is unlikely.
So My rough list is:
Intel Core i7 4890
Asus Motherboard???
Samsung Evo 512Gb SSD
Nvidia GTX 760
32 or 64Gb RAM
Decent PSU
Quiet cooling
These probably don't need much more in them to be honest. The SSD drive will be for OS and APPs, all work is live off a NAS via 10Gb LAN, so no data drives etc required.
