Yet another is this ok spec thread?

I had in mind for it to be a midi-tower gaming pc on a budget!

I really like this case, already have one which I made up for my mum so I've decided to buy another one.

i3/mobo/memory combo I'm not sure on, except for price.

5770 I thought would be enough, overclock it perhaps.

2x1TB 6GB SATA HDDs in RAID0 for that extra boost.

Bluray drive for movies.

Already have the other bits, including a white monitor!

Well I've always believe a good psu is essential, and to have a psu which is higher than needed but will an i3/5770 or 460 push a 500w psu?

I'm looking for 1440x with eye candy ON, so should either card be ok for this?

Certainly at that Res you'll be fine with either card.

The 500w PSU witht he core i3 and either card would be fine.

Just fitted an HD5770 into my mates PC tonight and he was running a bog standard 375w Dell Supplied PSU with a Q6600 so 500w will be enough :)

So you could save yourself a bit by going for the 500w and 5770 and be pretty happy :)

Also he took the £123.36 VFX HD 5770 1024MB and it comes with what looks like a really solid cooler too.

Hmmm got an email from ocuk tonight and I'm now thinking of an i3 overclocked bundle, selected components and a steady overclock!

Just add my 2x drives, leaning towards the 5770 (but which overclocks best?), psu and the above case.

Now I need to check with gibbo & co if that budle and card aaaaand psu will all fit nicely.

GIBBO ARE YOU READING, OVER.

:p

+1 for the GTX 460 suggestion.

However if you really want the best 5770, buy the MSI Hawk.

As for the bundle - just depends if you're feeling lazy or you want to do the OCing yourself. ;)

I have the Benq M2200HD (22") or there is the M2400HD. Not bad, or you've got the BenQ V2400 Eco in white, complete with plant pot! :D

Google will tell you what I mean!

Highly suggest a 1gb 460 over a 5770. Its a much better clocker (more performance per a MHz). I would suggest getting the MSI Cyclone 460 its a very good clocker, cool and looks great :)

Thanks matt, will look into that.

How long are those 460's? because my case is only a midi and from memory there isnt a great deal of space inside the way the hdd caddy is placed?
