Evening all.
I’m wanting to build a new pc for work, and thinking about the following components. I’ve got an nVidia 1660 Super which I’ll keep seeing as prices are ridiculous right now.

Uses will be web design, light video editing, photoshop/graphics work.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £997.19 (includes shipping: £12.30)

12 core AMD ryzen 5900x which will run rings around that 11700k in core-heavy multithreaded tasks
(i know you said intel, but just to show that you can get a 12 core ryzen for the same price)

Not interested in Ryzen unfortunately. My current pc is a Ryzen 7 and it’s been the most unstable pc I’ve ever used.

you are going to leave performance on the table by going intel: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/a...Gen-Intel-Core-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5000-Series-2099/

just out of interest which generation ryzen are you running?
Current PC is a Ryzen 7 3700. I generally have never skimped on components so there are no cheap parts that would make the system less stable but for whatever reason I’ve just not got it to last more than a few hours usage without it rebooting randomly.

In contrast, I’ve never had a single issue when building Intel pcs and with this being a work machine, I need it to be rock solid.

Wait for intel Alderlake cpu to be released in about 5 weeks.
Hmm have looked at Alderlake and while it’s due to be released in a few weeks, it looks like it won’t be a available til next year and mobile versions will be released first, so could be a good 6 months off.
