In the not so distant future i will be specing a new gaming rig.

I have a 24 inch monitor already however need to build a new machine, plus case and keyboard.

I want in to be fairly future proof, also i need a os as im currently on xp still, unless there are decent cracked versions available.

all advice appreciated, i plan to buy ideally in a month or so and would ideally like to spend in the regiion of £800 however if needs be i can extend my budget.

Some pre-made systems are brilliant if you don't want to build a computer and for a keyboard i'd suggest Saitek Eclipse II or III, i love those keyboards.

i like that mouse, i love my mx510 so that would be ideal, yea i understand its a lot more expensive but im wondering how it would fair in comparison and whether it would be worth the extra £££ to be more future proof.

chances are though that i wont bother paying mega wedge for the latest tech, best to buy the pre generation isnt it ?

ye i agree with jason, keep forgettin the next gens a week away, u can get the 5870 or 5850 and windows 7 in the future. cheers jason

is a budget of £800 or so realistic , i thought i would really be looking at a lower end system at that price.

Even if you're not willing to pay for the latest tech the prices of last gen products will fall so either way its best to wait it out, especially its so close.

£800 is a very solid budget - should be looking at a great system. But should definitely wait even if its just to take advantage of current tech falling in price.
Im using the Logitech G5 mouse and I hate it. Luckily I only payed £15 but it feels like a left handed mouse in my hand, and thats even after Ive carved a chunk of it off. The textured surfaces are awful too, dont know what Logitech were thinking with that.
